Ida Chong Oak Bay Recall Good News and Other Things:

Following is a update from Colin Nielsen For the Oak Bay Gordon Head Riding
Hi Volunteers
On Friday, a gentleman came into the Lillian Street office and offered us a signing location in the heart of south Oak Bay - corner of Central Avenue and St. Patrick Street.  This is central to hundreds of Oak Bay residents, making it very convenient for them to sign the Petition.  That corner hosts a popular restaurant, a beauty salon, Casey's Market, etc, hence attracts lots of people via car and on foot.  People will still be able to sign at Lillian, however our main signing point will become this new site - the address is 697 St. Patrick Street.  It is a nice storefront and sandwich board signs are allowed on the street and there is good parking.  We will be moving to this site on Monday December 27th (2 days after Christmas) - volunteers currently working at Lillian Road will continue working at Lillian Rd until Thursday December 23rd.   We feel we will get many more signatures at this new site due to its convenient location.
To clarify

Good work people. We really appreciate, all of the hard workers, who are out there fighting on behalf of, the BC citizens. The HST has only driven up costs. As a senior, I am really struggling. How the everyday family with children, are making ends meet, is a mystery to me. Besides the HST, we have our provincial budget tax hikes as well, to cope with. Merry Christmas, to all of you wonderful people. Looks like you are only having a short rest, and then going back at it. Thank you all so much. Enjoy your x-mas with your families.

This is wonderful news. All of you are selfless, you are putting the BC people first. That we have never known, with our, selfish underhanded premier.

I just couldn't wrap my mind around, canvassers were being stalked by, people in dark clothing. They should be calling the police. Laila Yuile, was attacked. She was shoulder checked twice and nearly knocked down. She also had her children with her. The information, is on her blog. Do not take, these menacing stalkers lightly, canvassers can be in danger, as Laila was. Please call the police, if you are being stalked.

I know there are people in Oak Bay Gordon head reading this blog and for them I thank you for your kind comments. The thing that is being missed in this whole mess is that the seniors are being hit hardest. We feel this ripoff immensely. Also everyone seems to think that the recall is only about the HST. It's not. It's about a lying government and their lapdog MLA's Working for the big buck and not for the voter.
anon 12:36 Never forget that this governments dirty tricks are many. When my name was put out as an organizer they tried to lump me in with a person who supported Ernst Zundle's right to say what he wanted about the holocaust. They'd have you believe that the Van der Zalm "army" is a bunch of "terrorists". To me, all they are doing is spewing a different brand of MacCarthyism from the fifties. I have a democratic right to recall my MLA for whatever reason I want. And I am working to do that.
